AUCKLAND PRESBYTERY.
The ordinary meeting of the Auckland Presbytpry was held yesterday afternoon and evening, in the hell at St. David's Church. The Rev. L. H. Hunt, Moderator, presided. Leave of Absence.—.\s the Rev. S. Nixon (Pukekohe) is still confined to his bed, the Presbytery granted him three months' lcavo of absence. Mr. Stuart was appointed to act as Moderator in the meantime. Kaitaia.—The Rev. W. Elliott, M.A., of Kaitaia, wrote resigning that charge. He said that, having been for four years in that isolated charge, a change would be beneficial for both the people and the minister. A letter was read from the Home Missions Committee expressing appreciation of the work done at Kaitaia by Mr. Elliott. St. Peter's. —The Rev. J. Lamb Harvey read the finding of the visitation to St. Peter's Church, which referred in eulogistic terms of the work done by the Rev. T. Halllday. The office-bearers spoke in the highest terms of the minister and hie wife. The Presbytery passed a resolution heartily congratulating St. Peter's Church upon the marked progress made during the past three years. Junior Church. Membership.—The Rev. L. L. White raised the question of the General Assembly legislating so as to permit of a Junior roll of church members being formed. He said it had been suggested the junior roll should be of people under sixteen years of age. Upon attaining 16 years they could be passed on to the roll of ordinary 'church tnembers. His session had asked- him to bring, the'- matter before the Presbytery. Formal notice- was. then given that an overture on the subject would bo submitted at next meeting of the Presbytery, Hareaville. —The Rev. ,r. ('. Tooker reportea re the Dnrga villi? charge, that the dnbt had buen wiped off, and there was now a credit of £16. He considered that honour was due to the committee of management at Dargarille for the manner in which, thrv had managed to wipe out the debt. They hoped to settle a minister at Dargaville in a few months' time on the church extension basle. The Presbytery paewd a resolution commending the managers and the people of Dargaville on the success they had achieved North Auckland Presbytery.—The Rev. c;. H. Gibb reported on behalf of the special committee set up, in favour of the establishment of a North Auckland Presbytery being formed. Mr. Glbb said favourable replies had been received from several sessions in the North. It was decided that the Presbytery forward a petition to the General Assembly of the Church asking that a Xorth Auckland Presbytery be formed
