PITT STREET METHODIST CHURCH.

THE NEW MINISTER. At the Wesleyan Methodist Synod of the First London District, the application of the Rev. Leonard B. Dalby to "labour in New Zealand" was heartily; and unanimously supported. At the pastoral session the minister gave Mr. DaJby a ver3' hearty send-off and wished him "bon voyage." Mr. Dalby, who has accepted an invitation to Pitt Street Methodist Church, Auckland, was considerably affected by the kind words of appreciation of his work and many good qualities. Many of the men, some of whom had been at college with Mr. Dalby, wanted to come to New Zealand with him. Dr. Sharp, who recently visited New Zealand, expressed the general feeling of the Synod when lie spoke of the honour done to their Synod in inviting one of their ministers to New Zealand. At the Wesleyan Methodist Confer* ence, held this month, the application was granted and the circuit stewards of Pitt Street Church, Auckland Central Circuit, are in receipt of a cable conveying the conference consent. The Rev. Dalby was interviewed on behalf of Pitt Street by Rev. \Y. A. Sinclair when in England last year, and the Methodist Conference, held in Wellington last February, gave its consent to the invitation, which has now been endorsed and confirmed as above. The Rev. Dalby was very much in request for deputation work in England, and during August will preach in the chief Wwleyan Church of Blackpool, Tynemouth, Moreoomhe and Exeter. His coining to New Zealand will give special interest to his visits and direct attention to the work of the Church and to the fact of Methodist Uniosi being successfully consummnted onil working in both Australia and New Zen land, Methodist Union being one of the burning questions in the various Mct'iodist Churches of the Old Land.
