HOW MANY SKINS HAVE WE? AND HOW OFTEN DO WE CHANGE THEM?
Of course, everyone knows we have several skins, but what every woman does not know (and it is primarily a woman's question) is that the epidermis, or outer scarr-skin of the face out-wears Itself rrom time to time, and a new one—the one that lies just underneath —waits ready to take its place. You may have noticed how, In cases or sunburn, the face "peels." But burnintr the skin off Is a very painful method of acquiring- a new skin, and not one woman would choose. The proces.B of decay la the surface skin of the face Is normally almost imperceptible, for the dead scales are very minute. What they do, though, is to clog the pores and attract every atom or dust and dirt which more readily attack and adhere to the skin. The result Is a thoroughly bad complexion, dull, colourless, and frequently disfigured with spots and blemishes. The only way to restore freshness and bloom to the complexion is to get rid or :he out-worn scarr-skin by the use of mercoiued wax. This rragment compound will remove the dead skin while you sleep. Tor it completely dissolves the decayed tissues and uncovers the soft, clear skin underneath. Mercoilze_ wax possesses rare absorptive qualities which accomplish this without any discomrort whatsoever, and without the slightest irritation or the most sensitive skin. All you need do is to procure a small quantity from the chemist, and at bedtime, arter washing the race In warm water, apply it as you would any ordinary face cream, taking. care to leave it on until the morning, then wash again with warm water and a good toilet soap. Ten days or so of this treatment will give you a new complexion as fresh, clear and sort as a child's. It has been there all the tune just waiting for a chance to reveal itself.—(Ad.)
