PERSONAL.
Mr. Justice Frazer. of the Arbitration I Court, has arrived in Wellington from Lyttelton. Lieutenant-Colonel and Mrs. R. C. Allen, of Morrinsville, are staying at Hotel Cargen. Mr. G. T. Stewart has been appointed engineer and secretary of the Raupo Drainage Board. The new guests at Hotel Cargen include Mr. Sl)aw Maekley (Wellington), and Mr. B. H. Tosswilf (Pigeon Bay). Mr. T. D. Kendall, inspector of the Public Trust Office. Wellington, retired on superannuation on Saturday after 38 years' service. The following are staying at the Star Hotel: —Messrs. F. Hodgson (Te Arolni). T. H. Young (Wellington), and jA. Christian (Wellington). I Mr. C. P. Ryan, stationmaster at Mercer, having been transferred, to tne chief accountantra office, Wellington, will be succeeded by Mr. A. J. Johnson, assistant relieving officer, Auckland district. Mr. W. T. Hunt has been re-elected ! chairman of the Ruawai Co-operative Dairy Company for the eleventh, year in succession. Dr. T. J. Hughes, Medical Officer of Health at Auckland, will be away about , a month, in connection with the removal of lepers from Quail bland to Mokogai Island. Dr. J. H. Crawshaw, of Dunedin, is relieving during Dr. Hughes' absence. Mr. J. Ferriday, of Mount Albert, has received advice by cable that his son, Mr. E. G. Ferriday, has gained the degree of B.Sc. in engineering at Birmiugtiaiii University.
