AUCKLAND TROTTING CLUB.

THE ANNUAL REPORT

BEST YEAR IN CLUB'S HISTORY. The ahnual meeting of the Auckland Trotting Club will be held at 3 p.m. on August 19. The annual report ami balance-sheet states that the club has had another most successful year; in fact, the best in the history of 'the club. After writing off £290 14/ depreciation, the profit and loss account showed a credit balance of £10,075, 1.3/2. Of this sum £10,050 had been carried to capital account, leaving £25 13/2 still to the credit of profit and loss account. The capital account had increased from £10,000 in 1913 to £55,000 in 1925. an increase of £45,000 in twelve years. The debenture issue of £60,000 had now been fully paid Up. During the past season the club gave the sum of £27,505 in prizes for their three meetings, which produced splendid racing and good finishes. During the past year the new grandstand had been completed, and furnished at a coat of buildings and furniture, etc., of £03.020 13/8; and they now had a grandstand second to none in the Dominion. The extra accommodation provided had been much appreciated by the public. The old grandstand had now been given for the use of the outside partons of the club, ladies being admitted free, and gentlemen charged 2/0 each. This concession had been very favourably commented upon. The committee had in view further improvements, viz., new entrance gates, improvements to grounds, also a new sand -track to enable trainers to work their horsea during the winter months. For the vacant seats on the committee the following nominations had been received: Messrs. J. Rowe, H. Morpeth, Thos. Buxton, John W. Ryan, George McMillan and John Morrison (retiring members). As the nominations did not exceed the number required to be elected, an election waa not necessary. As stewards, the following nominations had been received: Messrs. T. E. K. Wade, J. F. Shanly. W. J. Bray, Robert Wright, R. W. Ainaworth. and Henry Chatteris (retiring stewards). As the nominations did not exceed the number required to be elected, an election was not necessary.
