With labour from the prison camps the construction of Bruce Road, which runs in practically a straight line from the \\ aimarino-Tokaanu Road to the \Vhakapapa cottages on Ruapehu, is, after about twelve months, completed. ■tne first motor car to reach the cottages yesterday contained the Mayor of Auckland, Mr. Geo. Baildon, Sir James Gunson, and Mr. J. Cullen, members of the Park Board, and Mr. Glvnn.
