TRAFFIC IMPROVEMENTS.
SUGGESTIONS BY MOTORISTS.
ELECTION OF OFFICIALS.
The business side of the North Island [Motor Union conference was concluded at the Chamber of Commerce yesterday evening. The suggestion of tlie Auckland Automobile Association that undefended bylaw cases should be dealt with, by the traffic department received unanimous support, and it was resolved to ask the Government to legislate accordingly, as remits outlined previously were adopted. The establishment of a motor oycls patrol branch of the police' force, to apprehend speeding motorists and owners driving without lights at night, was approved. It was decided to bold the next halfyearly conference at Wellington, and the next annual meeting at New Plymouth. Tlie following officers were elected:— President, Mr. A. J.- Toogood; vicepresidents. Dr. A. E. Porritt and Mr. A. .Grayson; secretary ami treasurer, Mr. H. J. Stott; executive, Messrs. L. A. Edwards, W. Howard Booth, B. L. .Donne, C. N. Banks,. A. C. Blaney, H. C. Jones and W; CCallaghan. The delegates were taken for a motor drive round.the suburbs by members of the Auckland Automobile Association /this afternoon, and. will form a party at the theatre this evening. To-morrow afternoon a visit will be paid to the; site of the proposed motor speedway at Mangere. Departure will be taken by the Main Trunk express to-morrow" evening.
