LEAGUE TEAM'S TOUR. TO-DAY'S GREAT MATCH. .By Cable.-Press Association.—Copyright.) BRISBANE, July 31. 'Tlie New Zealand League team to play Queensland to-morrow lias been selected as follows:— Full-back: Dufty. Three-quarters: Delgiosso. I'aikes. and Brown. Five-eighths: Wether ill and Saunders. Half-back: Wilson-Hall. Forwards: O'Brien, Lowry, Carroll. Dixon, llenery, and Mouatt. Emergencies: Gregory, Kirwan, Webb, Ellis, and Green. The following were unable to play owing 1o slight injuries: Herring. Avery, and Brisbane. — (A. and X.Z. (able.) The result of to-day's game against Queensland ..will be eagerly awaited in tlie Dominion. Irccause the opinion has been expressed that the real test of tlie strength of the New Zealand team would come when our men encountered'tlie best Queensland side. In the last lew years tlie code has improved so much in that that the Brisbane players are now recognised as the best in Australia, despite the fact that once this season they were defeated by New South Wales. The team to represent the Dominion to-day is a solid one. but tlie chances are that most of the work will fall upon the forwards, who are. indeed, a line combination. Avery's omission is to he regretted, hut this is unavoidable, as the Auckland, breakaway forward is laid aside with an injury. The same remark applies to Brisbane, who has been showing excellent form and combining well with his other backs. In 101!) a NewZealand team twice played Queensland, being defeated each time; but the Dominion representatives to-day are a much more formidable lot, and if they go under it will not he without making a great fight to ward off defeat.
