LONDON, July 30. SHORT LOANS AND BILLS. Short loans, 3 J per cent, same as last week; three months' bills, 4+ per cent, compared with 4i per cent last week. FOREIGN EXCHANGES. The following- rates on foreign exchanges arc current to-day, as compared with the cabled quotations on July 27 and par:—

We quote New Zealand salted 194/; exceptional at 196/; Danish butter at 202/; finest Australian butter, salted, at 190/; unsalted, at 194/. Cheese.—Market dull. New Zealand, white and coloured, 108/. to 109/. Canadian, spot, 106/ to 108/. Messrs. A. H. Turnbull and Co. are in receipt of a cable from Messrs. W. Weddel and Co., Ltd., dated London, July 31, reading:—Danish butter, 204/; New Zealand unsalted butter, 196/ to 200/, salted 195/ to 196/; market quiet but firm. New Zealand cheese, white and coloured, 108/ to 109/; market quiet. FROZEN MEAT. ' Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having received the following cablegram rrom their London house: — New Zaland prime crossbred lamb, Canterbury, heavy, 9£d; light, lljd. New Zealand crossbred: lamb, North Island, heavy, 9}d; light, ligd. The demand for New Zealand lamb runs principally on light-weights. New Zealand prime crossbred mutton, heavy, 6id; light, 7sd.
