ANTHRAX MENACE.
WORKERS NOT PROTECTED. BEN TILLETT'S CHARGE. GENEVA. May 20. Ben Tillett. the English Labour leader, told the international Labour Conference that the advice of experts and scientists regarding the danger of anthrax had been almost entirely ignored by Governments, who protected vested interests at the expense of human lives. Britain was among the chief sinners in this commercial sordidness. As anthrax affected all forme of labour engaged in handing hides, skins, wool, and hair, there was the greatest need for scientific precautions. He hoped that the Labour Office would find means of insisting on these being- taken. He understood that experts believed that disinfection was possible at the port of export.
