HEAT WAVE IN U.S.A.
■WEATHER COOLER NOW. (Recpivpa 10 a.m.l NEW YORK, June 8. The backbone of the heat -wave in the eastern States was broken on Monday by breezes from the Atlantic, the temperatures falling as much as 40deg in five hours. Deaths totalling 1-W on Sunday brought the total up to 400. Relief also came to the middle west, storms doing considerable damage in several States. — (A. and X.Z. Cable.)
