Goldstone and others petitioned the board to r»pair and extend thP present footpath tn the Great North Road. The board decided to supply material for the repairs and to intimate that it iras not in a position to carry out the new work requested. ' Portage Road South.—Residents from this area asked for the construction of a footpath from tho Tannery to Links Road. The present traffic had made it dangerous for pedestrians to use the. road. It was board could not carry out this work out nf revenue. Possibly the request could be. Wattle Street.—Messrs. G. L. and R. E. Taylor wrote asking the board to favourablr i.-onstder tne dedication of this street. Ths road was complete with- the exception of offered as a guarantee to cover the cost of the uncompleted work. There were present: Messrs. J. E. Cowell tMayori, W. X. Mclntosh (Deputy Mayor*. \V. C. Coiai"Utt, T. Gilbert. H. Stoupe, R. G. Speight. J. E. Green, TV, Kemi', U. Lamplioz, and A. .T. UipweU. Finance —Tho general account is in debit £1036. Accounts, amounting to New Zealand Exhibition.—A request was received from Mr. J. Findley for a subcourt at the Dunedin Exhibition. T He sugzested a donation of one-fifth of a penny in the £ on tho unimproved value of the borough. The Mayor remarkp-i that this rate would mean about t<o from Onehunga. It was agreed to hear Mr. A. T. Bralnsby on the subject next Monday night in committee. Mr. R. G. Speight remarked that it -would be a good thlnz to invite the owners of local industries to attend at the same time, to discuss the subject with the council and Mr. Brainshy" .Town Band.—The council approved of thu appointment of Messrs. G. Hunter. A. George and G. Thompson, as citizens' representatives oa the Ouehunga Town Band Committee. Electric Light.—Messrs. W. N. Mclntosh. J. E. Gre>-n. and W. Kemp were appointed a committee to define the exact position of the electric street lamps. Fourteen Pays.—Mr. .7.
