THE CONCLUDING DAY. DICK WINS WINTER STEEPLES. BOOMEKDAY THE CAMPBELL. Tho wintor meeting of tho Auckland Racing Club was concluded at Ellorslie yesterday iv fino though dull weather. There was a pood attendance, and the going was good- for this time of year. The sum of £73,235 10/ was put through tho iotalisator, compared with ff>4.Gill 10/ for tho corresponding dny last year, making £241,125 for the meeting ajrainst £218,610 10/ for the previous winter fixture, an increase of £_2..">14 10/. A Small Fieia. Only five went to the post f'>r the Tamakl Steeplechase. Bourn was made over twice as good a favourite as Bluehall and Vociferate, the next in demand. Slanialicra was in front when the field settled dcm~n, from Vociferate and Bourn. Vociferate fell at tho first fence on the hill, but was remounted. Bourn and Maniancra led over the double and along the back, hut on top of the hill Maniahera was again on terms with Bourn, hut coming down the incline Bourn drew away again, while Lady Comet was in third position, Bluehall having fallen at the fence by the five furlong post. From this out Bourn was never troubled, winning easily by six lengths from Lady Comet, who came fast in the straight, and beat Maniahera by a neck. Vociferate finished a long way back. Cureaform Again. After Cureaform's performances at the meeting, she was made a good favourite for the Orakei Hurdles, with Lucullent the second in demand, carrying about £000 less. Te Tahi also had good support. Betty Bruce fell at the first hurdle and Peter Rosa the second. Peter Maxwell, who was early in the lead, piloted the field.past the stand from Rippling, Irish Jig, Pinna, Cureaform, Trespass, Te Tahi, and Lucullent. The field began to close on Peter ilaxwell along the hack, Rippling, Cureaform, and Lucullent being next, Trespass and Passionate coming to grief at the next hurdle. Peter Maxwell, Rippling, Lucullent, and Cureaform were together as they crossed the top, though Cureaform was first to turn for home from Lucullent, Rippling, and Peter Maxwell. Once over the last hurdle Cureaform stayed on to beat Lucullent by a neck, with Peter Maxwell four lengths away third, followed by Kendal, Rippling, Te Tahi, and Irish Jig. A Favourite Bracket. King Smock was the only withdrawal from the York Handicap, the bracket, Doleful Ditty and Zircon, being £370 better supported -h:.n Arch Amie, with Ruapapa next in demand. The colours of White Comet were fir3t to become prominent, and with a furlong covered he was attended by Gala Day, Yoma, Joy Ride, Zircon, Arch Amie, Doleful Ditty, and Matinee. Joy Ride and Zircon had taken command crossing the top from Yoma, Gala Day, White Comet, Doleful Ditty, and Matinee. Joy Ride and Zircon were first to turn for home from Yoma, Gala Day, Doleful Ditty, White Comet, and Matinee. At the distance Zircon drew out to win by a neck from Yoma, which beat Joy Ride by two and a half lengths. Arch Amie, Doleful Ditty, Gala Day, White Comet, Gold Jacket, Pompey, and Matinee were next. Dick Wins.

All went to the post for the Winter Steeplechase. Sir Bosebery was favourite, being entrusted with about £1000 more than Omahu, while Llewellyn was best supported of the others. Llewellyn led over the water jump from Omahu, Tuki, Pittsworth, Mary Bruce, Sir Rosebery and Passin' Through, but along the back Tuki had run up to Llewellyn, and they were attended by Omahu and Dick, with Sir Eoseberry and Passin' Through next. Llewellyn led over the hill from Omahu and Dick, but crossing the double the order was Llewellyn, Dick, Tuki, Mary Bruce, Omahu, and Passin' Through, with Sir Rosebery last. Tuki and Llewellyn were still in charge along the back from Dick, Passin' Through, Mary Bruce, Pittswortli, Omahu and Sir Roseberry. Llewellyn and Dick led up the hill from Tuki, Omahu, Mary Brace and Passin , Through. Llewellyn led down the incline from Passin' Through, Tuki, Dick and Mary Bruce. Llewellyn and Dick came at the last fence almost on terms, the former making a faulty jump. A good finish saw Dick get the verdict by a neck from Llewellyn, with Tuki three and a-half lengths away. Mary Bruce, Sir Eosebery and Pittsworth were next. History Repeated. Boomerday and Prince Rufus, bracketed, formed the public selection for the Campbell Hurdle Race, carrying £500 more than 'Frisco Mail, while Peter Amans was next in demand. Tinokaha was the early pacemaker from Narrow Neck, and passing the stands this pair were attended by 'Frisco Mail, Peter Amans, Boomerday and Prince Rufus. Along the back Tinokaha held his position till the hurdle by tlio five-furlon<r post, where he tired, Maunga falling at that obstacle. 'Frisco Mail and Boomerday then took charge and led across the top from Peter Amnns, Narrow Neck coming to grief at the hurdle by the three-furlong post. From this out .boomerday and 'Frisco Mail had the race to themselves, the former winning by a length, with Peter Amans six lengths away third. Princo Rufus and Tinokaha were next. Boomerday won the Camp bell Hurdles at the" previous winter meeting. Hoariri Returns Good Price. Curraghmore was the only defection from the Visitors' Handicap* leaving a field of twenty. Daylight was made about £900 better favourite than King Cheops, with Bright Sol and Archibald next best fancied. Heisler was in charge when the field settled down from Daylight, Hoariri, Archibald, Bright Sol and Exactly. Heisler rushed to the front across the top with Hoariri, Archibald Daylight, Bright Sol and Exactly next! Heisler and Hoariri were first to turn for home, with Daylight handy. In the run to tho post Hoariri held his own to win by a length from Daylight, which beat by two lengths.
