Signor Cresrii, the London representative of "II Popojo," the Rome newspaper, discloses in the "Manchester Guardian' , the conditions under which the Italian Opposition Press is working. He points out that though "ll Popolo" ha- hei'i expurgated twice and was bun; - ■--<■ three times in one day, no Italinn newspaper was allowed to publish the fact. The papers were not allowed to mention that the cro=- at Quartarella erected by the widow of the deputy Signor Matteotti. who was murdered by Fascist?, has been repeatedly fjrpd at and broken by a Fa-cist motoring gang. Trial; involving Fascist? are being held more and more in private. These usually end in the acquittal of the culprit-.
