NORWAY AND GERMANY.
NAVY VISITS DISLIKED. PLAIN WORDS FROM OSLO. (Received 12 noon.) LOXDOX, June 7. The Oslo correspondent of the "Times" says the Xorwcgian Press is taking strong exception to the announcement that a number of German naval units will visit the Xorwcgian coast during the summer. A restoration of normal relations with Germany is naturally desired, but the "Sjofarts Tidende" warns the German Government that no improvement can be expected by an over-early resumption of the annual obtrusive naval visits characterising the Kaiser period. Tlie paper adds that there are still dwelling around the Xorwegian coast thousands of families who lost their dear ones through German submarine warfare, which, rightly or wrongly, they consider synonymous with murder. Their sorrow, which is now almost healed, ought not to be renewed. Germany should be bluntly told she will gain nothing by sending warships to Xorwegian waters. On the contrary, it is emphasised that tbe longer they stay away the sooner relations will become normal.— ("Times.")
