THE FRANC FALLS.
M. CAILLAUX _ REGIME. COLLEAGUES NOT IN HARMONY LOXDOX. June 7. The Paris correspondent of the "Daily Express" says the fall of the franc to below 100 to the pound has set the Government's ship rocking and may capsize it. The differences lictween the leader of the Right wing and the Radicals in the Chamber of Deputies, M. Loucheur and the Minister of Finance, M. Caillaux, as well as those between SL Caillaux and the Socialists, have developed. M. Caillaux threatened to resign yesterday morning. The Minister has failed signally to obtain the support of bis colleagues in the Cabinet for the whole of his financial programme. He knows the country is judging him on the fall of the franc. The man in the street is shouting: "Failure." M. Loucheur and his 40 followers threaten that they will not vote on the Budget until they know M. Caillaux's scheme for restoring French finances. The Paris correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" says the Socialists are dead against M. Caillaux's projects for establishing budgetary equilibrium and they also object to the fighting in Morocco. A late message from Paris says it is believed there that the Painleve Government is toltering and that M. Briand is likely to succeed to the Premiership.— (A. and X.Z. Cable.) -i
