PRESENTATION
A pleasant little ceremony took place this morning at the Cabin t-ea rooms, Pymonds Street, when the business people of that locality assembled to make a presentation to Mr. H. Matson, of the Symonds. Street branch of the National Bank, to mark the popularity of his inclusion in the All Black team to tour Australia. The prescnintion, ■which took the form of a handsome Xevr Zealand travelling rug. was made, by Mr. George Tntt on behalf of the subscribers, and he spoke in glowing terms of the high esteem in which Mr. Matson was held by the business community of Svmonds Street, and wished him and his'fellow All Blacks a pleasant and successful trip. Mr. Mat son suitably responded.
A presentation of a travelling rug was made on Saturday afternoon to Mr. W. Drake, postmaster at Papatoe.toe, prior to his transfer to Otahuhu. The ceremony was performed by Mr. A. W. Hall (chairman of the Town Board) and Mr. H. S. Thomas, on behalf of {he telephone subscriber.-. Mr. Hall spoke in high appreciation of Mr. Drake's services during his two and a half years at. Papatoetoe, and of his unfailing courtesy.
On the previous Wednesday the postmaster was presented with a case of pipes and a tobacco pouch from the staff.
Mr. W. C. Boyce, recently supervisor of the Anikland Telephone Fxchanpn. lias been appointed (o Uie position of postmaster at Tapatoetoe.
