A NEW STAR.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The director ox the Government Astronomical Department, Dr. Adams, has received cabled advice from the International Astronomical Bureau of Copen- I lmgen thut a new star lias been discovered by the Cape of Good Hope Astronomical Department. The .-tar is ~f 2.4 magnitude, visible to ■the naked eye. Its position is Olirs 3flmiii riplit ii-in,.<ioi. ami (i-ideg 34min ! poutli (lcclination. Dr. Adam? explained that the position ! of the new star is about Odeg south of \ ■the bripht star Canopus and about 2deofrom Alpha Pictor. Hβ has observed the star from the Kelburn Observatory.
