It wa* years later that the lirst. motor ambulance wa» acquired. The Auckland I entro is fortunate in liavinc a building that was erected at a cc«t of f.Jf'Oii "on a site granted by the ' ity Council fnr a lease of fifty year- at a peppercorn rental. This building ia estimated io be worth double the money to-day. The motor ambulance at limes jroes far beyond the boundaries of Auckland city and suburb;, as far Ecuth as IJrury and north up to Riverhead. This service is at the call of all and sundry, and has been particuJarlv useful at races and sports meetings. ■n hen men have been injured and require to be removed to the hospital. The members of the centre are also in attendance at sports meetings to render iir.-i aid to those who are hurt. The following organisations are -taking part in the street collections: — Navy League (Kerry Buildings), Epsom Nursing Division I New Zealand Insurance Buildings), Rotary Club (Milne and ( hoyce's). National Reserve Xursing Division (Wyndham Street), Lyceum Club (Smith and Caughey's), Auckland Nursing Division (Wellesley Street), W.C.T.L". (John Court, Limited), Query Club and Mrs. MeXair (Champtaloup and Kdmiston), Victoria League (Victoria Arcade), V.M.C.A. (Fowlds' Corner], National Reserve Nursing Division (G.P.0.), Plunkct Society (Synionds Street), Y.W.C.A. (Graftou and St. John Ambulance District Nurses (Karangahape Road).
