RUGBY LADS' RTTSE. BLOCKED AT THE GATE. The story goes that on one occasion I four racecourse habitues, finding them- j helves without the price of admission, | got past the gatekeeper until it came to j the fourth individual. The first said he | was the owner of a certain horse, the ' second said he was the trainer, the third j went through as the jockey, but tbe | fourth, having the worsl end of the bluff, I was turned down by the gatekeeper when j he tried to pass as'tlie horsff! j Another bluff which it was reported to the Management Committee of the Auck- I land Rugby League had been carried out by one of the junior Darnell Rugby clubs was the subject of discussion at last ; night's meeting. The gatekeepers re- j ported that the young fellows, whose club colours are red. the same as the Kingsland League tenm, had been gaining admission to C'arlaw Park by giving the password " Kingsland " to the gate- i keepers. j After some discussion the League decided to refer the matter to a special , committee for consideration. ;
