NOMINATING CANDIDATES. FIVE AUCKLANDERS NAMED. The list of Auckland players who have been nominated for a* place in the All Black team which is to visit Sydney next month was placed before the A.K.U. Committee last night by Mr. G. Nicholson, who said that he was under the impression that members of the team that toured P.ritain were not j eligible. His list was: Lorn as (Thames), jL. Knight (Grammar old Boys), D. Wright (Grammar Old Boy's), L. I Right on (Ponsonby), and Matsou I (Ponsonby). All these players, with the exception of Matson took part in the trials hist year, and Matson later played some fine games for Auckland as liveeighth and centre three-quarter. Mr. Harry Frost mentioned that there bad been some misunderstanding about I the eligibility of the 10_4 All Blacks. [It had been proposed that they be excluded from the selection of the team to go to Sydney, but after discussion the annual meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union decided to send the best team available, having in mind that quite a number of those who took part lin the British tour would not, for business reasons, be able to take part in this trip bo soon after their return home.

WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The executive of the Xew Zealand Rugby Union has appointed Mr. McKenzie, of Wairarapa, to manage the team. WEST COAST NOMINEES. WE.STPOKT, Wednesday. The Buller Rugby Union has nominated I). Griffithß, R. Tunnicliffe. V. jCodall and A. Lockey for the New ZcaI land team.
