A WOMAN MURDERED.
ARREST OF A FISHERMAN. BRISBANE, April 27. In connection with the death of Mrs. Lengthall, who was found at her home at Maryborough with her throat cut, a fisherman, Richard Thomas, who lives next door, has been arrested and charged with murder. He has been remanded for eight days. The authorities state that Thomas, who has been in indifferent health for some time, had several slight quarrels with his wife- Apparently the dead woman sympathised with Mrs. Thomas. The fisherman is alleged to have spoken to Mrs. Lengthall over the back fence and then to have gone through it with a razor in his hand. After Mrs. Lengthall's throat was cut she died in a few minutes. ! Another neighbour is said to have witnessed the deed—(A. and X.Z. Cable.) I
