ROWING.
■ BARRETT CUP. On Saturday afternoon the annual interclub race for the Barrett Cup will be rowed over the West End Rowing Club's course. The conditions of the Cup are that each club shall row n set of trial fours in conjunction with the holders of the trophy, and that the respective winners of each set meet in a grand final for the Barrett Cup. The West End Club (holders of the Cup for the last two years) will qualify for the race with a set of trial fours for trophies presented by the patron, Mr. J. Clark. IXTERCLCB EIGHTS. A special attraction at the West End Club's trial fours to-morrow afternoon be the challenge race between the Auckland Club and West End Club eights (holders of the trophy) for the Dr. Stuart Read Cup. Since the inauguration of the contests ihe rules have been changed to make the race a challenge one. and to-morrow's race will he the first under these conditions. The course will probably be from the Watchman to a point off the West End Club's boathouse.
