GREEK COMMUNIST.
DEPORTED FROM SYDNEY. • MENACE TO SOCIETY. (Fror. Onr Own Correspondent) SYDNEY. April 3. A Greek. Achilles Demetriades. who has been advocating Communism, is to be deported from Sydney. Demetriades has been a few days in gaol, where he was sent for six months on March 12 on a charge of wilfully and obscenely exposing himself on February 4in a Sydney street. The authorities decided to deport him after representations had been made regarding his sentence. After Demetriades was sentenced his property was closely examined and mamletters and papers secured in his trunks were placed in the hands of Greek interpreters for translation. Tbe translations handed to the police showed that Demetriades had tried to form a society among Greek residents of Sydney to advance tbe principles of Communism. All his letters .were considered by the police to be prejudicial to law and good government. There was advocacy of violent methods, anil it was stated that the man was a menace to society.
