EARTHQUAKES IN MEXICO.
PEOPLE LIVING IN OPEN. ONLY MATERIAL DAMAGE. (Received 10.30 a.m.) MEXICO CITY, April 8. A message from President Calles, who is visiting the earthquake zone, says that almost every house in Chalchihuitis is damaged. The majority of the inhabitants are returning to the town. Thousands at Durango are reported to be living in the open on account of their homes being damaged by the recent earthquakes or because they fear to return on account of recurrent shocks. Only minor injuries are reported.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
