OXFORD DEBATING TEAM.
"PRINCIPLE OF PROHIBITION." (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Oxford debating team appeared for the second time before a Wellington audience when they took part last night in an argument on a motion: "That this house approves of the principle of prohibition in relation to the liquor trade." The affirmative was taken by Messrs. H. McCormack (Victoria College), M. MacDonald (Oxford Union) and W. P. Rofr ings (Victoria College), and the negative by Messrs. M. C. Hollis (Oxford Union), H. E. Baume (Victoria College) and J. D. Woodruffe (Oxford Union). On being put to the house the motion was carried by an overwhelming majority.
