■ .*:.• IN MOUNT EDEN. :^73 »* VALUE LAST YEAR £186,559, -, f The number of buildin.g- permits issued by the Mount Eden Borough Council for the year ended March 31 last numbered 535, and had an estimated yaluej of £18G,559. Of the permits issued 151 were for dwellings of an aggregate estimated value of £129,974, 222 were for alterations to existing premises, 138 were for motor sheds, 22 were for shops and factories, and two of the permits were for the new fire station and the baths. Building permits of a total value of £142,531 were issued at Takapuna during the year ended March 31. Last year the total for the corresponding period amounted to £158,993, but of the latter sum £18,S8O was spent in rebuilding the Roman Catholic Orphanage, which was destroyed by fire. At last evening's meeting of the local council twelve additional permits of £ total value of £5782 were granted.
