Last Monday a drover from the country; was arrested for. having been drunk while in, charge of a horse : and vehicle- The. ~ Fitzroy Court " sentenced him to 14 day 3* imprisonment. The drover" had with him two sheep dogs, and since Monday they have taken up their quarters at the police station yard and will not leave J the vicinity of the cell formerly occupied by their owner. Constable H. Reynolds, resident watchhouse- keeper, and other members of the force, will feed the dogs until their owner is liberated. The man's horse has been removed to the police depot.
