NORTHCOTE SCHOOL.

SECONDARY COURSE DEFERRED. A request from the Northcote School Committee for the establishment of postprimary classes at the school came before the Education Board to-day. It was stated there were 30 pupils for such classes. The Advisory Inspector stated that, the position was that Xorthcote School already had the first two forms of a minor high school (representing , standards IV. and V. of the primary school), but had not yet the accommodation for the two other forms (standards V.. and VII.), which represented a post-primary couree. The Department had -not given permission for the post-primary course, on account of , the lack of accommodation, but sug- ■ gesteel that pupils at Northcote qualified for such course should attend othei Auckland high schools. The secretary stated that, though the Technical Col- • lege could not take such pupils, there was room for them in both the Auck- j land Grammar School and the Mt. • Albert Grammar School. The board decided that the establishment of post-primary classes at Xorthcote school be deferred until there was sufficient accommodation.
