FRUIT AND VEGETABLES. Quinces are on the market and sold from 5/6 to 7/, . ! Plule a few peaches brought from 4/6 jo 10/ a case according to quality. The ™6t shipment of bananas ripened quickly and sold at from 4/ to 14/ a case, granges are very scarce and realised up to 25/ for poor quality. Lemons sold at irom.s/ to 15/ and *Cape gooseberries .^ d to 7d a lb.

In the produce section there were iieavy supplies of potatoes, the best «rge free of blight and rust bringing from 9/ to 11/ a C wt. others 5/ to 8/, ■Pumpkins sold at from 2/ to 5/ a sack, 0r .4/ a ewt, cabbages 1/ to 2/6 a sack, -onions 6/ to 9/ a cwt, kumaras 5/ to '/6 a cwt, lettuce 1/ to 4/ a sack, Watermelons in over supply 3d to 1/ **«>. beans 9d to 2/ a bag, green peas J 1 to od a lb. celery 3d to 1/6 a bundle, ruubarb 1/ to 2/6 a dozen, carrots, Parsnips, beet and turnips 4d to 9d- a oozen bundles, vegetable marrows fid to V° a dozen, cucumbers 1/ to 6/ a dozen. In the poultry section there was a food demand ior a well supplied market, ■trices improved during the week, being as follows: Heavy cockerels, fattened, o/9 to 8/6, unfattened 2/6 to 5/6; light, fattened, 3/6 to 5/, unfattened 2/ to S/; young ducks, fattened, 3/9 to 5/6, jmfattened, 1/6 to 3/; heavy hens, 2/9 ■i.JM/e, light, 2/ to 3/6; old ducks, 1/6 Jo 3/; pullets 5/ to 8/2.
