THE NATIONAL ROLL.

ONLY TWO MORE DAYS FOR LAGGARDS. < ■ CLOSES OX MARCH 0. *i i Qualified electors are reminded that i the electoral rolls throughout New ! Zealand will be closed on Friday next, i March 0. This means that there are ; only two more days in which dilatory electors who have resided for three j months in the electorates in which they now live can avoid infringing the terms . of the Act by neglecting to enrol. ' After Friday all qualified electors who have neglected to claim enrolment will be liable to prosecution, whether their names appeared on the 1922 roll or not. In some instances the letter carriers I have called at houses and found no one at home. But this does not release the elector from the consequence of omission to enrol. The onus is upon the elector to obtain the necessary enrolment form either from the nearest post office or from the Registrar of Electors, whose office is in the Law Court BuildiiT.es. High Street. i The Registrar, Mr. F. Evans, states that he has not received so many claims J for enrolment in the Auckland Central and East electorates as in the other Auckland electorates. This may be accounted for by Central and East containing a larger floating population than the other districts, and no doubt there are numbers of electors both in Central and East who have not yet completed the residential qualification of three months to entitle them to enrolment. Such electors are, of course, . required to apply for registration as i soon as they have completed three i months' residence in their new ■ elec- , i torate. ' I' — ' ~
