UNHAPPY ALLIANCES SEVERED

The whole of the morning and part of tne afternoon was occupied at the Supreme Court to-day in hearing petitions in divorce. Mr. Justice Reed presided.

On the grounds of separation, decrees nisi were granted in the following cases: Victoria May Lockyer (Mr. Matthews), married to William James Lockyer on March 27, 1913. The parties separated in June, 1921

Mary Jane Donaldson (Mr. Wilkin) married Ebenezer H. Donaldson on March 31, 1906; separated in May, 1920. Margaret Alexander (Mr. Hail Skelton) married Reginald Horatio Albert Alexander (Mr. Matthews) in January, 1911, and afterwards lived at Napier, Wellington and "VVhangarei; respondent deserted petitioner in July, 1920. Maud Elsie Barnes (Mr. Vallance) married Henry Barnes in August, 1916, and there were two children. A separation order was made by a magistrate in May, 1921, and they did not afterwards cohabit.

Rene Dorothy Gee (Mr. Kirker) married John Leonard Gee in January, 1919. and there was one child. Respondent deserted petitioner in November. 1911. Joan Laira Elton (Mr. Nufcsford, instructed by Mr. Snurdle) married John Stuart Lin Elton, in February, 1918, and there was one child. Respondent deserted her in August, 1921."

Amy Maud Brott (Mr. McLiver] married William George Brott in December, 1016. and there was one child. A separation order was made in May, 1921. Frank Snowling (Mr. Bennett) married Maris Frances Snowling- in December, 1006. and there were two children. They senarated by mutual consent in March, 1020.

Alice Maud Paton (Mr. Kalman) married Charles Robert Paton in March, 1895, and there was one child. Respondent deserted netitioner in February, 1914.

Albert William Eedman (Mr. Matthews) married Flora Eliza Redman in 1002, and there were five children. They separated under an order in 1921. ALLEGATIONS OF MISCONDUCT. Jeanie Lohkamp (Mr. Glaister) obtained a decree nisi in respect of her marriage with Bernhard Lohkamp, which took place in November, 1911, the grounds for the action being separation and an admission of misconduct.

A letter with the husband's signature, containing an admission of misconduct; was handed in by Edna Mary Williams (Mr. Townsend) in seeking a dissolution of her marriage with George Alfred Williams (Mr. Denniston). They were married in 1921, and there were two children. A decree nisi, with custody of the children, and alimony pendente lite to be paid at the rate of £2 10/ per week was granted.

James Williams (Mr. Matthewe) stated in evidence that respondent had admitted misconduct with an old schoolmate, which occurred during petitioner's absence abroad. He married respondent. Rita Williams,-in 1922. A decree nisi was granted.

Albert Charles Parrott (Mr. Horrocks), who married Alice Maud Mary Parrott in 1909, obtained a decree nisi on the grounds of respondent's misconduct. Petitioner stated that he had lost track of respondent and could not say where the two children were. i TWICE DIVORCED. Lewis Marks (Mr. Hogben) sought a divorce from Annie Marks, whom he mnrried in July, 1897. There were two children. They lived in New Plymouth till 1913, when petitioner went to Melbourne. Afterwards respondent refused to live with him. In 1914 he went to San Francisco, where he resided for four years. Respondent would not come to live with him, and he obtained a divorce in that city. Counsel explained that the present proceedings were taken, since there was some doubt as to the validity of the San Francisco action, petitioner not having been domiciled there permanently. He returned to New Zealand in 1919. Respondent still ignored his overtures. A decree nisi was granted.

Alfred Edward Anderson (Mr. Dickson) obtained a decree nisi in respect of his marriage with Katherina Cecilia Imelda Anderson on the grounds that she had failed to comply with an order for restitution of conjugal rights, made on August 28, 1024. They were married in 1914, and there were two children. AN UNHAPPY WIFE. In seeking a decree in respect of her marriage with Colin Robert Owen Wilson, Berniee Alicia Wilson (Mr. Dickson) stated that she married respondent in 1917, but her life had not since been a happy one. Respondent, who was a clerk, in a good position, had lost his employment through over-indulgence in liquor, and since June, 1920, he had left her without means of support. He had been guilty, ehe said, of cruelty by using abusive, offensive and threatening language. Petitioner had maintained herself by teaching music. A decree nisi was granted. RESTITUTION OF CONJUGAL RIGHTS. Olive Gladys Johnston (Mr. Dickaon), who married Robert Douglas Johnston in 1920, stated that respondent left her in March, 1923. There was one child. Petitioner was granted an order for the restitution of conjugal rights within 14 clays. Victor Millett (Mr. Inder). who married Edith Ethel Millett in May, 1920, sought an order for restitution of oonjugal rights, respondent having withdrawn in February, 1924. There were two children. An order was made.
