KELLY'S ADMISSION.
WEAKNESS SOMEWHERE. i Released at 10 a.m. on Tuesday after j a week in gaol for drunkenness, .John Kelly was back in the hands of the I Cliristciiurch police at 2 p.m., wondering what his latest drinking bout would , cost him in freedom measured in weeks, months or years. Tho brown, corrugated face of Kelly has been a familiar one in the courts for years past, and lie smiled when he appeared once mure before. Mr. Wvvorn Wilson. S.M., charged with drunkenness, j Senior Sergeant F. Leu in said that i Kelly had been before the Court on 100 ! occasions. lie xvas released at ill a.m. i on Tuesday, and was in again at 2 p.m. "Is this list correct." asked the magis- I trate, as the typewritten sheet was I shown to Kelly. [ "I am sorry myself,'' said Kelly. | "There must lie a xvVaknesa somewhere. Apart from drink I'm all right.'' "You have been at Roto Ron several ' times before." said the magistrate, and ' Kelly winked at the reporters. j Tho magistrate said that Kellv had I been to Roto Ron in Ifill, iyj4 am _ 1917. He xvould be remanded to see if there was another vacancy. Kelly heaved a sigh.
