— POWERFUL CRICKET SIDE. TEAM TO TOUR NEW ZEALAND. (Received 9.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The Victorian cricket team to tour New Zealand will leave .Melbourne for Sydney on Wednesday, and xvill sail for New Zealand on the folloxving Friday. The team selected, xvhich includes a twelfth man, is as follows: Mayne (captain). Willis. Ellis, Woodiuil. Wallace, Ransford. Hendry. Ironmonger, Hartkopf. Liddicutt, Millar, and Schneider.--(A. and N.Z. Cable.) i It has to be remembered thai this team xvill be reinforced later by Ponsford and Ryder, when it will contain six internationals. Woodfull. is a great first-wicket batsman, and Liddicutt, Ellis, and Willis are tirst-elsas interState batsmen, xvhile Liddicutt is a tine bowler, and Ellis the xvicket-keeper of the side. It will be seen that little has been left to chance xvhen the nttaek of Wallace (the State's fast boxvler), Hartkopf (the star sloxv boxvler of Victoria), Liddicutt and Hendry (two high-class bowlers) is reinforced by the inclusion of Ironmonger, the left-hand tnindler. who, though noxv at the veteran stage, has taken over 100 wickets this season in senior club cricket. Millar and Schneider are two brilliant cults, xvho have done well in the inter-State junior matches, and are expected to be among the stars next season.
