The promoter of a company licensed to make cricket bats bearing Philip Mead's name informed a meeting of creditors and shareholders, at which a total deficiency was chown of £132,520, that the reason for the failure was inability to secure a sufficient quantity of matured wood from which tv make the hate. | Artificial means of finishing and maturing liarl proved unsuccessful.— (A. and N.Z.
