m — URGED RELIGIOUS TEACHING. (By Telegraph.—Trees Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. The Anglican general synod resolved: "This general synod approves the action of the bench of bishops, xvhieh, in cooperation xvith the leaders of other large Christian denominations, agreed to the policy formulated by Mr. Isitt's bill to provide for religious teaching in public schools. Synod regrets the failure by Parliament to pass the bill, and earnestly commends it to the veople and Parliament of Nexv Zealand, in the hope that it may speedily become the law of the land."
