■ Mr. D. Cameron, chief reporter on the Hansard staff, is on a visit to Auckland. Mr. E. Strain, of Dunedin, and Mr. E. Jones, of Wellington, are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Moltzcr, of Sweden, have returned to Auckland after touring New -Zealand, and are at the Grand Hotel.

Captain Hugo, inspector of lire brigades in New Zealand, has been unanimously elected a full member of the Institute of Fire Engineers recently inaugurated in Great Britain. He is the first official in the Dominion to receive this important appointment.
