£260,000 FORGERIES
WANTED TO BE " NAPOLEON OF FINANCE." NEW YORK, January 22. 'Sloe Turman. 27, has confessed to forgeries involving a total of 1.300,000 dollars (£2150.000) in his efforts to become a Napoleon of finance. Clients who traded with Turm.in alleged that they were promised 300 per cent interest on loans. Four complainants allege that they lost sums ranging from 30X100 to 900.000 dollars. Though they received high interest for a short time, the payments suddenly ceased and the principal was not forthcoming on demand. The authorities believe that Turman has misappropriated 2,000.000 dollars I £100,000).
