Thit I was given with regard to the claim|of people living in Marlborough. j The court held that it would proreet 'as if it were investigating the title t.c. { the land as in IS4S. and only those per j sons who were thus entitled would b< admitted. The claim by the northeii people was too remote, inasmuch a.' their occupation had ceased in formei generations. The fact that those people belonged to the Ngatimamoe. arid llaii contributed to the fighting fund, woulc give no right, but the court was willinu that a list of such Contributors should be formulated for some special treatment out of the fund when the amount of fhe contribution was known. The claims of those on the list then before the. court., together with others ir?a similar category, were dismissed. The native* asked that they might have till next morning tn consider 1 he effect ol judgment, and the request was granted
