The (le.neva correspondent of the "Daily Express" describes an amazing vendetta which was begun 238 years ago between the families of Aschwanden and .Tauch in tho alpine village of Bmgeden. O n Christmas Day .Tauch shot Aschwanden in a forest then gave himself up to the police. He declared be had shot his enemy in order to protect his own life. Aschwanden's 16-year-old son swore an oath to avenge his father. There is already a long list, of deaths due to the fend. The male children of both families have been taught from infancy to shoot straight, and are never allowed to leave the village unarmed. —(A. and j N.Z. Cable.)
