MATCH AGAINST SOUTHLAND. I WON BY SIX WICKETS. I (By Telegraph.—Otvn Correspondent.) INVERCARGILL, Saturday. The Auckland-Southland match was resumed at 10.30 a.m. to-day, in beautiful weather. Hemus (06) nnd Cooper (3) were at the wickets. The former scored quickly with well placed shots all round the wicket, including fine late cuts. At 156 Msbet, the left-hander, bowled Cooper for 7. Goodwin followed, and commenced freshly .-"?_£ Goodsir for three successive fours! At 195 Hemus was caught near square leg boundary, and retired with 93 to his credit made in his best style. Goodwin hit Kavanagh for six, but the next hall was caught near the boundary. Scott and Jones, batting well, added 35 before the former was caught in the slips.
