SUICIDE BY HANGING.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) TAUMARUNUI, Wednesday. An inquest was held at Matiere concerning the death of Augustus John I McGahan, butcher, who was found hanging by a rope behind his bedroom door. !It transpired that deceased had been worried over business and had been i drinking fairly heavily, though he was ■ sober at the time he took his life. ; The coroner returned a verdict of I suicide by hanging. He remarked that there was no evidence of insanity at all, i every witness being firmly of opinion j that deceased was quite in his right I senses.
