RANGITOTO FOR AUCKLAND.
FORMKIHA" ADMIRALTY STEAMER. A few days ago a steamer named Rangitoto appeared in the cables as leaving Aden for Australia. Our records failed to disclose the identity of the vessel, says the "Daily Commercial I News and Shipping List," and no infor- ! mation could be obtained concerning her movements. ' Latest advices, however, indicate that I the steamer Rangitoto ia bound from I Southampton to Auckland by way of I Suez and Australia. j Writing from Southampton, Captain ! Geo. Schutze. who is well known in | the Australian-New Zealand trade, I states that he was leaving with the 1 small, handy, three-deck passenger ' excursion steamer Rangitoto, for AiieiC* I land, via, Sue/., Colombo, probably Fre- | mantle or Albany, and Sydney. The Rangitoto was formerly the Admiralty steamer Ant. She is 164.5 ft long, by a fine, beam of 33.1 ft. and has beautiful clear tcakwood decks. She only draws Bft 3in when loaded. The Rangitoto was built on the Clyde in 1013, and is 545 tons gross and 315 tons net register.
