TRAFALGAR DAY.

NAVY LEAGUE SOCIAL. AN ENJOYABLE EVENING. There was a large attendance of members of the Navy League and friends at the Graf ton Road Hall last evening, when a social was held to commemorate Trafalgar Day. Mr. A. M. Ferguson, the president, in welcoming those present, - amid that the occasion was one when great men of the Empire and their Still greater deeds were remembered. The nation's gratitude was due to Nelson and Us memorable victory at Trafalgar in 1805, an event which might be described as the corning of age of the modern navy. . * An excellent and enjoyable musical programme was gjven, a one-act play entitled "A Debt of Honour," by, Sidney Grundy, being well produced. * It was delightfully done, and the whole cast showed an aptitude for acting that warranted the applause accorded the artistes. Mrs. Young gave an excellent portrayal of Lady Carlyon, and was well supported by Miss Beryl Poulton as Rose Dalrymple, Mr. Vyvyan Hunt as Sir George Carlyon, K.C., M.P., and Mr. Roy Hooper as Phillip Graham. "Aye Maria," from "Cavalleria Rustieana." was'splendidly rendered by Miss Eva Robertson, while Miss, Poulton contributed a pianoforte solo, and Mrs. G. Young an amusing recitation, "Babee Ribbon." an encore being demanded in each instance. A supper and dancing and card-playing completed a very enjoyable evening.
