i . FARMER CLAIMS COMPENSATION. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ! CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The Supreme Court this morning heard a claim by Jeremiah Boyd, she«pfarrner, of Kaikoura, and his wife for ._ 1100 against John Robert Thacker, sheep farmer, of Okaius Bay, alleging that serious damage to plaintiffs' land and sheep had been caused by a fire lit I by defendant last December. The defence was that the fire started on Boyd's place. Defendant admitted havin- started a fire, but claimed'that I it. went out three days previously. . -The I lease is proceeding. _;._ • •—-*--' •
