ANNUAL SMOKE CONCERT. There was a larpe. attendance at the annual smoke concert and presentation of prizes of the Auckland Football Association nt the Scots Hall on Saturday night, when the prizes were distributed by Mr. A. Menzlrs, the president. The Dickson medal lor the best player of the year wns awarded to J. Corbett, o"f the Harbour Bonrd team. A fi-nture of the evenlnp; was the presentation to Mr. Menzles. of a novel liqueur stand made In the form of a elase footlinll, a Rift from the management committee in recoenltlon of the services of Mr llcnzieß to the game. The presentation was made by Mr. H. 8. W. King, and In response. Mr. Menzles stated that it wns his ambition to soo Soccer plnycd In all the primary and secondary nchooln of the Dominion, and the Association in Possession of Its own ground. Mc did not advocate Soccer as a universal pame, an there was room for all codes, and he would like to see all winter sports Join in an annual (tola day for the benefit of charities from the tnklncs. and of the several sports in the fraternity, born of united effort in a good cause.
