Arrangements have been made for the vessel John Alice to leave Darwin for Boorooloola and take mounted constables and two black trackers for the purpose of establishing a police station at Klcho Island with the hope of collecting further information regarding the two women who. it is stated, are the only survivors that escaped from the wreck of the Douglas Maus.jn. An expedition, of Darwin people is | being fitted out to search for the two ! women. It will consist of several parties of experienced huehmen who will proceed overland to Arnheim Land with horses. They will scour the country from many different points. A blackfellow who has arrived from Arnheim Land states emphatically that | blacks with white women embarked in ' canoes and landed on an island in the Gulf. A Brisbane citizen has offered to lend an aeroplane to take part in the search, It is claimed that the Huddersfield expedition covered only about one-fourth of the area comprised in Arnheim Land (A. and N.Z.
