STOATS AND WEASELS.
DESTRUCTION OF LAMBS AX EXHAUSTIVE INQUIRY. (l?y Telegraph. —Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Tn consequence of statements as to stoats and weasels killing lambs at Waimarino the Agricultural Department in dispatching an officer to make exhaustive inquiries. Mr. F. Nicol, farmer, of Rangataua, reported that he had lost heavily, having found 23 lambs dead in one morning, .and his complaint is corroborated by four neighbours. The Department doubts if weasels are responsible, but, recognising the matter as serious, is losing no time in taking action.
