SPLENDID RAINS.
PASTURE PROSPECTS BRIGHT. (By Telegraph.— Special to "Star. , ") DUNEDIN, Friday. Fortunately splendid rain has followed yesterday's nor'-wester, otherwise a devastating effect on young crops and grass would have gone far towards nullifying the long waited relief of previous rains in Canterbury and North Otago. As it is the demand for stock to fatten will be, if anything, accentuated for both forward and immediate delivery. The demand for store sheep is remarkably keen. In Otago Central the country has received another fine soaking, and the i country generally is now in great order, and the season so far, by reason of a copious rainfall, is the best experienced i for many years.
