FOUR YEARS FOR DOCTOR.
OLD MEN KILLED BY CAR. DROVE STRAIGHT ON. VICTORIA (8.C.), October 8. One of the most sensational prosecutions for manslaughter, following an automobile accident, that has been heard in Canada, was completed to-night, with the sentencing of Dr. Edward Boak, one of .the city's leading physicians, to four years' hard labour. A month ago, late at night, Dr. Boak, after returning from the suburbs, reported to the police that he had lost control of his car on the slippery roadway, and crashed through a fence and wrecked the machine. Neither himself nor the physician friend who was with him was injured. A few minutes later the police learned that two men had been killed at the exact spot where Br. Boak's car was wrecked. They were aged men, who had been calling on friends. They started across the pavement arm in arm, when a motor car hit them, killing both instantly.
